And the Times, They Are A-Changing...

Hey there everybody, so there's some big news going on up here. I have officially carved out a new corner of the web for myself, because clearly Facebook, Twitter and Blogger weren't enough.

I officially have a tumblr. And I know I already have a blog, but the way I see it...I can do whatever I want. I'm blogging for myself here, and there are certain things that just aren't Taking The Water material. Things that are more in-the-moment, stream-of-conciousness type things that I just want to spew out into the world in a blur of spontaneous clicking and typing.

I'm not the only blogger who does it, either. My ultimate blog crush Heather Taylor over at The Dream Machine has one, for example...it's a thing bloggers do, okay? And I'm really happy about it. So be happy for me.

Hit me up at http://sweetconfrontation.tumblr.com. Hit me up now.

In other news, my dear lovely friend Josefine threw a graduation bash last night, and while I am not a graduate just yet, I had a blast. We also took a bajillion photos.

My bestie Suzie et moi at the partay.

Josefine has a beautiful home and threw an amazing party. It was so nice to hang out with everybody and I had an amazing time.

And while I was too busy last Friday to post, I have not abandoned Fill In The Blank Friday just yet. Here is this week's installment, and its culinary theme is making me hungry!

1. If I could choose my last meal it would be: A cold glass of Coke and the chicken alfredo they serve in the Pizza Port at Disneyland, with frozen blueberries for dessert. Don't ask why I always crave the Pizza Port chicken alfredo, because I don't know. It's just...delish.

2. My favorite person to share a meal with is: The trannies! because Every time I have "trunch" (tranny lunch) with my friends Austin, Jasveer, Gaston, Taylor (x2), Suzie, Kate, etc...my life just gets that much brighter.

3. The best meal I've ever had was: Hmmm...that's a toughie. Probably brunch at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill in NYC. I had mahi mahi there for the first time and it was a truly magical experience.

4. The one food that makes me feel instantly better when I'm having a bad day is: Any carbohydrate, really. Because I'm allergic to chocolate (i know, gasp!) my comfort food is any sort of carbs. Yum yum yum.

5. My absolute specialty in the kitchen is: Baking. I'm the honorary baker in my family...pies, cakes, cookies, you name it, I love making it for you. When my family moved from Canada to California and my life was a stress explosion, I baked my way through an entire Williams-Sonoma baking cookbook. Something about baking is a stress reliever for me, and everybody loves the food!

6. The city that has the best food is: Los Angeles, although I'm a little biased and my favourite restaurant there is Rock Sugar Pan Asian Kitchen in Century City. Oh. My. GOD. I die. It's right next to Beverly Hills and Hollywood, and my mother and I absolutely adore it. Everything from the ambience to the service to the to die for food...it's the perfect place. I want to marry it.

7. My favourite healthy snack is: frozen blueberries, as I noted in number 1. They're 9 times as good as regular blueberries, and they're a sensory delight. They're crunchy, cold, and delicious. Drizzle some maple syrup on top and they become even more fantastic (but I'm Canadian, so I think that everything becomes more fantastic with maple syrup).

8. In my opinion the nationality which has the best food is: Italian. I'm a sucker for a good pasta. And Italian food has such heart in it, you know? Eating at a good Italian restaurant, you can feel centuries and centuries of love and hard work and super-cute accents.

9. If I could learn to cook anything in the world (and be really good at it!) I'd choose: rice. I know this sounds dumb, because I consider myself a good cook, but I cannot for the life of me make a batch of rice. I screw it up every time. And it's kind of a staple. Plus, I love rice! The other night I went out for Persian food with friends and had this rice dish with cherries, dates and raisins in it. An unusual combination, certainly...but I savoured every bite. So amazing.

10. The most outrageous dessert I've ever had was: this cookie-ice cream thing. Wow, way to describe it, Aurora. When I lived in Ottawa, there was this restaurant called Jack Astor's in the little town centre thing. And they had this dessert which was a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie stuffed with ice cream, and then covered in more ice cream. SO GOOD. And so weird.

So yeah, that's my Fill In The Blank Friday this week. I hope you all are enjoying the beginning of summer, and have a fantastic weekend.

love,
me.

P.S. don't forget to head over to http://sweetconfrontation.tumblr.com because you love me <3
