Forever Young...

How do I describe the last 3 days?

Hectic, exciting, bittersweet, amazing, tearful, monumental, life-changing, fantastic.

Thursday: Drama Banquet. At the end of every year, everyone who was involved with anything in the Aliso Niguel Theatre Arts department gets all dressed up and celebrates the year with a night of nostalgia, inside jokes, senior send-offs, etc. There was definitely a video shown of me doing the dance from the Shakira "She-Wolf" video. Awesome. I felt like I took way more photos than I did, but at some point I will have a video of my senior send off for my friend Dante. I still get a teary thinking of him leaving for Stanford in the fall, and I went up there and tried to explain our bond, and tried to convey how deeply I care about him and how much respect I have for him as a performer and friend. It's impossible to put into words how I feel about that boy...platonically, of course. As a token of his appreciation, and because "I've been such a good friend" he gave me his super-comfy stanford sweater. I'll wear it with pride, babe.

Friday: Even though it was a Furlough Day (aka free day off school!) I had to work all day, and then run to a choir concert, but it was all okay because i love choir. There, I said it. Laugh, whatever. Throw a slushie in my face, I don't care. I'm a choir geek and proud of it. The friends I have made in Madrigals will last a long, long time. Adam, Jane, Bijan, Dante, Ashley, Tanner, Samer, Tess, Salma, Alexis, Sara...the list goes on and on and I love them all dearly. I can't believe the seniors are leaving -- I can't imagine life without them, let alone fourth period. Heart Heart Heart. There's a great photo out there of Bijan, Adam, and Dante with a sea of smiling girls that I will try to find and post here when it's posted on Facebook...it basically describes choir. What can I say? Choir girls love us some basses.

Saturday: Dun dun DUHHHH...Prom. I did my own hair and makeup, which was fantastic until we took pictures at the beach and my cool loose curls turned into a texturized version of my plain straight hair. I can't help it that my hair rejects all style in the face of humidity. I had a great time, my date was a sweetheart, and my group of friends made it one of the best nights of my life. The limo ride was amazing thanks to pumping music and Bijan's fantastic dance moves. Miles will never stop making me smile by being the sensitive, creative dude that he is "I have fancy shoes! Look, I can tap dance!". I made new friends and danced my heart out with old ones. Everybody looked amazing. The Shark Club was an amazing venue for the event and I basically loved every minute of it. I felt like I was in a classic teen movie the entire time.
I love us. Even though my darling date is creeping in the back instead of standing by me :P

And did I mention Bijan, the sweet, sweet white-tuxed amazing dude that he is, won PROM KING? Woooooo!

How was your weekend? Sorry I haven't been posting lately, but I'm a busy girl!

love,
me.
