I've Been A Bad Blog Mother, I Know...

but let's not let that get us down.

For now, let's focus on the more fun parts of life. For example...I am travelling. And I haven't really done much this year that allowed me to blog from somewhere other than my bedroom, so that's pretty darn cool, if I do say so myself. I'm updating my tumblr as well, but I just feel like that's not really the place for a lot of talking, and Lord knows I love a lot of talking.

This week I am in Hampton, New Hampshire...aka the world's smallest town.

I thought I grew up in a small town. We had more sheep than people, and it was totally rustic and stuff...but this town is smaller than that. I've never really spent that much time in New England, and I have made a few observations since I arrived last night:
- the salt in the air from the seashore burns my eyes and nose. yuck.
- 3 words: funniest. accents. ever.
- What is with all the Dunkin' Donuts? Please reference this tweet from last night:

I'm sorry for the crude imagery, I know that "hard-on" is probably not a term I should casually use on a website my mom reads...but seriously. I know I live in Southern California where there's a Starbucks on every corner, but I've never been inside a Dunkin Donuts, and they just don't look that impressive. Why are they EVERYWHERE?
-The buildings in the main part of town look like Gilmore Girls. Except that Gilmore Girls is in Conneticut. And the town they live in is easily twice the size of this one.
- Time changes are bitches. I didn't really understand why my dad took Nyquil last night, and now I totally get it. I've never gone West Coast - East Coast before, and when you're lying in bed at 12:45 and it feels like 9:45, and you want to go to sleep so bad it quite literally hurts but you can't because your biological clock is screaming at you...you should take some Nyquil. I didn't, but then I woke up at 7:45. Which felt like 3:45. Clearly I do better waking up at stupid body-times than I do going to bed.

I'm off to shower and then experience the wonder that is Dunkin in a bit, so...be prepared.
I'm going to try to blog here more often, I promise. If you've missed me, check out my tumblr, where I've been spending all my time lately.

love,
me.
